Abstract:

In my experience, Curtis is a very effective and efficient tutor.  His knowledge, professionalism, ability, and helpfulness assisted me during my first semester of Business Finance.  I went from a desperate student feeling overwhelmed and struggling with college life to receiving a final grade of 92% in this course!  Highly recommended, especially for a nervous, first-time student in the Business Administration - Accounting program!

Introduction:

My name is Samantha J. and I am a 30-year-old first year student in the Business Administration - Accounting program.  Around the middle of the semester, I found I was struggling in the Business Finance course that is mandatory for my program.  I was absolutely destitute and decided to look for a tutor.  First, I tried posting on my Facebook wall and local buy and sell groups.  Next, I tried putting up a Kijiji Wanted Ad post...  when nothing came to fruition immediately, I panicked as I had a midterm the next day.  A friend suggested that I search Kijiji for candidates...  just as I clicked on the Curtis' Super Tutor ad, a friend also sent me the link to Curtis' website and told me they think he sounds like the right person for the job.  I carefully read his website and decided he was absolutely who I was looking for, with my goal of a Diploma PLUS the Degree I wished to attain later AND even more postgraduate certificates in the field.

First Contact:

His Kijiji ad suggested contact by SMS, so I texted him right then and there.  To my immense surprise, he responded in less than a minute.  First impressions mean a lot to me, and he had immediately thanked me for being detailed in my background story and also what I was in (desperate) need of.  A bit of back and forth to discuss an emergency meeting for that night.  A few texts later, he agreed to meet me at my school that very evening - even though it was in the middle of a winter storm and I lived quite a distance (+/- 100km), with a prearranged minimum tutor time due to distance.  In our first session, we went well over the minimum time limit and he didn't make a single complaint despite the fact that the college library was closing and he still had a long drive through an ice storm ahead of him.

Tutor Sessions:

Despite my natural anxiety and nerves, Curtis was very personable, professional, patient, and most importantly, he LISTENED to me when I described my needs and where I was lacking in my finance course.  He assured me and explained that he was there to help and would explain it to me in a way that I would understand.

During our sessions together, not only did he help explain to me alternate methods of answering the questions I needed to learn, but also took the time and showed how patient he was when I demanded to also be able to do the step-by-step formula process the Professor required on tests and took the time to help me understand.  He helped me pick up speed, accuracy, and, bottom line, a better understanding of what the course required of me AND gave me tips on what an employer would expect of me in the "real world" after I graduate.

Final:

Through Curtis's patience, instruction, and tutoring ability, he turned me from a distressed student with no hope, to a high achiever.  I completed the Business Finance course with a 92%!

I would like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude for you as my tutor for the last 2 years.  I've faced many challenges in my program as I struggled with the mandatory math, accounting, and finance courses that needed to be completed in order for me to graduate with a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration from the University of Guelph-Humber and also a Diploma in Business with an emphasis in Marketing from Humber College.

Prior to hiring the tutoring services of Curtis (Super Tutor), I had many failed attempts in Accounting 1, Accounting 2, and Managerial Accounting.  I knew I needed support and expertise from a tutor who has the knowledge and tutoring techniques to help me graduate.  In the 2 years since hiring the support from Curtis, I was able to achieve grades higher than I could have ever imagined in these challenging courses at the university level.  As a tutor, Curtis assisted me in every chapter and he was able to teach me at a pace that allowed me to fully grasp the technical concepts.  I was able to do all the weekly assigned questions and he assisted me in all my exam prep and online assignments.

I cannot thank Curtis enough for his dedication to help me graduate.  Without him, I can honestly say I would have never been able to succeed.  I finally graduated this past June and I know that if I didn't acknowledge I needed tutoring assistance and if I didn't hire Curtis, I would be in the same boat failing these challenging Math, Accounting, and Finance courses.  He is always reliable and will accommodate with flexible times to meet.  He is on your team and will ensure you will achieve greater success.
